Set Sail

Faithful readers…
Here’s a new one that doesn’t quite paint the pictures I saw in my mind but I hope you like it. Thank you for reading.

She blows a kiss that launches ‘cross
An ocean in the night,
A fleet of boats with moonlight sails
That shine with stellar light.

Through oceans deep with timeless flow
Her dreams are cast adrift,
And patiently she waits awhile
To each return a gift.

A breeze to carry vessels far
With stars to show the way,
The water black but promise filled
Each wave a jewelled spray.

What wonders will return to her
‘pon soft returning tide,
To keep within enclosing hands
And from the world to hide.

Her sainted smile alights the shore
As soon these boats return,
And as each hold reveals it’s freight
She sets them all to burn.

And so her dreams returned just so
Are cast in fire bright,
Until another moon will rise
‘bove ocean in the night.
