The Housewife With The Drugged Up Grin – The Punishment

Here’s the first part, in case you missed it. The Housewife With The Drugged Up Grin.
I have no idea where this character came from…(housewife with a drugged up grin?? what??) but I hope you like it.

And as the judge announces “You’ll be hung until you’re dead”,
the housewife with the drugged up grin just gently nods her head.
The punishment does fit the crime she cannot disagree,
but though she’s due for Hades gate what will be will be.
This man who beat and tortured her with words and well as deeds,
deserved a fate at bladed edge that caused him so to bleed.
The housewife with the drugged up grin could face her final days,
knowing that her husbands fate was sealed without delay.
So calmly is she led away to stop in jailers cell,
while all around her people cheer for justice so befell’d.
And as the baying crowd rejoice for justice rightly served,
the housewife with the drugged up grin shouts out so she is heard.
“You may be glad” she cries allowed “that justice has been done”,
“but just remember, all of you, that men do like their fun”.
“So next time that your heart is scarred or body roughly hurt”,
“think of me who had the strength to dole out just deserts”.
So with one last disdainful leer she turns and leaves the room,
knowing soon as morning dawns she’ll face her final doom.
She’s made her point and shown herself with dignity and poise,
and now the crowd in whispers talk too shamed from making noise.
The housewife with the drugged up grin still does not feel regret,
as the man who kept her down she’ll soon with peace forget.

I know – I have no idea where this came from, the character, the idea, any of it. It’s not one of my best… but it’s up there now for posterity.

Thank you Cubby. Not one of my best but I felt I needed to conclude the tale of the housewife with the drugged up grin 🙂
