We Danced

In marbled halls with velvet drapes
we met ‘neath evening moon;
The dress of silk that hugged your curves
set heart of mine to swoon.
The chess board floor of black and white
did echo to your heels;
And perfumed skin in flawless form
my breath did quickly steal.
As hands entwined and bodies touched
my world became a dream;
The music swelled and took our minds
your eyes so sweetly gleamed.
We moved as one within the beat
perfectly in time;
Around we span in breathless whirl
your gazed affixed on mine.
The room around us slowly faded
leaving us apart;
And all we knew in moment held
the beating of our hearts.
We gave ourselves to here and now
for parting comes too soon;
So while the music carried us
we danced around the room.

    Holy cow! Simon, you did it again! Just such a vivid image of two people, in the mist of passion! Dancing around.. Lost in each other…

      Thank you – and I’m very pleased you’re taking the time to go through some previous pieces. You’re doing me an honour.
