A Poet Wronged

What poison barbs in
tattered words would
flow from vicious pen;
to stab at heart in
wicked joy and conjure
tears again.

Each arrow flung from
language’d bow hits
home with cruel intent;
unerring aim of
evil eye gives no chance
to repent.

A talent pure for
stinging prose and
phrasing quick to burn;
descriptive words with
anger struck on pages
quick to turn.

For damaged soul from
chequered past will
always seek revenge;
not caring how a
poor excuse will try
to make amends.

Be wary of an
artists pen when free
to mark a page;
for vengeful words
when put to ink will
last throughout an age.

    Wow. I would never want to wrong you. Vengeance would be torturing and I’m sure you would find the cruelest words to carry out your sentence…
