The Marble Steps

‘fore watching eyes
we kissed on marble
cascading with the
rain of summer storm.

We cared not for
our skin so quickly
knowing soon our sodden
clothes would yet be

The jealous eyes
of birds tinged with
for they will never
feel a kiss so

The crying sky
that pours its water
anticipates our
end in love
